my favorite compilation is Great Wall!
every track on this cd is just hypnotising me and its perfectly mixed!
when i put the cd into my player i think i could fly!
thanks Paul for this lovely mix!
:D
has to be resident two years at cream.every tune is amazing sin city what a song, dream universe,el nino.its the bible of dance music and oakenfold is the god.
I am going to have to say that Tranceport is THE best of all of the above. I have listened to that cd a million times and still absolutely love it. Another World is also a great compilation. My absolute favorite is Great Wall. That album gives me chills! The best album since Great Wall would have to be Creamfields. Most of the recent stuff hasn't moved me in the same way...but I still like a lot of it. Some of it jumps around a lot with all of the different mainstream remixes. I prefer raw underground Paul...that's my favorite!

Those aren't Oakey's compilations but ARE the greatest of his mixes!!!
Still have them in playlist and probably can even name each of the locations they were taken from just from the first tunes!
Glad to see I got the ball rollin' on this topic...I forgot the following:
Perfecto: Ibiza
Millennium Mix
and y'all forgot Oslo--i love the downtempo and d'n b Oakey throws into those mixes.
Tranceport and New York are two of the best trance compilations ever made--they are right there with the Northern Exposure series and the early GU's from Sasha.
I'm sorry, but I can't really put any of his compilations after 2002 on my best of list--I'm just old school.
Regarding the essential mixes--i have almost all of them since 1994 and I would list these as my favorites in no particular order:
Live @ Creamfields
Live @ Gatecrasher
Live @ Space @ Ibiza
Live @ Homelands
Live @ Cream
