RE: Seems Oakie is wimping out of the deal.....

Now that is a good deal you got - 3 x 1210's, 2 x CDJ500's and FX modules. Couldn't make out the type mixer though...

I wonder if this auction is anything to do with Paul thought? I'm sure he's a man of his word and would honour any transaction (although I seriously doubt he needs the money :-)

I'd say it's likely that this auction is hosted by a third party on behalf of Paul. Better that you give the seller the allocated time for reply and if you hear no word then open a dispute via ebay.

Having been present at 3 show where Oakey has caned the equipment...and witnessed the CDJ's collapse midset!

I would be suspect of it's condition. However, if I'd seen this. I would have beaten you in that auction my friend :)

Appreciated that the shows use there own equipment.

I spoke to a sound engineer once.

He said he had worked once with Oakey.

He said it was the hardest nughts works in his life! LOL

The usual scene....Oakey drops a collussus, thenthe sound engineer comes in to correct the levels.

And I have on camera, literally close ups of Oakey watching for the sound engineer to turn his back. Then whacking the levels back.

    Classic ''Fold'

[Why do people say Oakie? - His name isn't Oakinfold - always puzzles the hell out of me!]

Hee hee - when Oakie played (as Oakenfold) at the Mandela 46664 concert in Cape Town South Africa - he also did two DJ gigs in Cape Town and Johannesburg. I was lucky to be at the Johannesburg DJ gig where I saw Oakie chase the sound engineers off their sounddesk cause they were screwing with his sound.

The mixer (in the Ebay pis)is a rotary mixer - possibly an Allen and Heath. I will be very surprised if this is Oakies old booth as each venue provides equipment to spec for his gigs baring when he's on tour (like with Madonna) or playing in Vegas where he uses his custom booth.

Like one of the other peope mentioned - doubt whether Oakie needs the money so why would he bother to screw with peoples money (the effort is worth more than the money and besides, Oakie could afford to buy a couple of African countries with the interest earned on his capital, lol).

Actually the mixer is a Rane 2016 which is an obvious copy of the classic UREI 1620 (note the reveral of the model nrs). The UREI and Rane are both great mixers, very simple, no wiz bang features.. just pure clean sound.

I've djed on Allen and Heath mixers in clubs and they don't stand up to the abuse in my opinion. Whereas the Rane / Ureis don't disappoint. I know all three brands get high marks in sound quality.

I am more than willing to complete the deal as promised/legally obligated by them.

However I've yet to hear anything from them. I think the deal is too good to be true.

Well the question about lack of sticker also made me check if it was authentic... so when it doubt..google it!

I found this image proving it's the real deal... (not my mistake in spelling) Anyway 2 shots of coffin in use...

    And I can prove it.

That equipment was not Oakenfold's top right.

I can't comment on that.. I'm looking at the gear in the two left (top and bottom) images.

I know the setup.. the turntables are suspended on thick rubber bands to prevent the needle from jumping from the bass as well as feedback isolation. I'm also noting the three vestax eq modules built into the case.

Good spot - must say that I had my doubts about the authenticity of this gear but I think the video evidence proves the fact that this is indeed Paul's old rig.

It certainly looks 'well used' but still a total bargain for the price. I hope the deal all goes through and you get hold of a true piece of history...

Just imagine the places that kit has been and the number of people it has been heard by :-)

A third party seller is running this auction. Paul has no involvement in this sale. Please contact the seller directly.
